s a Custom Sign Fabricator, you will be responsible for the creation and assembly of high-quality, custom industrial signage. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our design, project management, paint, assembly and installation teams. A Custom Sign Fabricator needs to have a passion for craftmanship and creativity where they can utilize their skills and experiences in various fabrication techniques and materials.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpret designs, production art, and engineering instructions to fabricate custom signs.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment, including, but not limited to saws, welders, torches, shears, grinders, and sanders.  
  • Work with materials such as steel, aluminum, plastics/acrylics, wood and vinyl to create durable and visually attractive signs.
  • Renovate used cabinets to refresh and modernize customer signage.
  • Trimcap acrylic letters.
  • Practice good quality practices to ensure proper functioning of signs.
  • Complete all paperwork related to the production process according to established procedures.
  • Document all materials to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Keep updated on trends and technology related to the production of signs.
  • Clean and maintain equipment daily

Qualifications

  • Experience in a fabrication environment is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of various materials and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented production environment with routine exposure to dirt, noise, temperature variance, chemicals, and solvents. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job with the potential for managing multiple project assignments. Frequent mental and visual concentration needed for computer work and reading/assimilating complex and technical information. Works with a variety of people including vendors, employees, and leadership.

Required Work Schedule:

Work hours are generally during normal production hours 6:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Thursday with variable hours on Fridays, and an average of at least 40 hours a week. There may be slight variations in work hours due to special projects and deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Will alternate walking, sitting, and standing throughout work shift. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds daily. There is use of the keyboard/mouse. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal and written communication. Requires near- and mid-range vision.
