he Sales Manager at La Crosse Sign Group will lead our sales team, driving revenue growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves managing sales operations, developing strategies to expand our market presence, and maintaining relationships with key clients across all sales regions. Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through planning, deployment and management of sales personnel. The Sales Manager will identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and profit margins. The individual in this role will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for the sign industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Sales Strategies:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  • Target Setting: Establish clear, achievable sales targets for the team, aligned with company objectives.
  • Sales Campaigns: Work with Marketing to design and launch sales campaigns and promotions to drive new business and increase market penetration.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively, ensuring the sales team has the necessary tools and training.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess sales performance and adjust strategies to address any shortfalls or capitalize on opportunities.

Manage and Mentor the Sales Team:

  • Performance Goals: Establish clear, measurable performance goals for both individuals and the team. Conduct performance reviews and provide information on strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Regular Feedback: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide constructive feedback and support. Address disciplinary issues and have necessary conversations to maintain a work environment consistent with our core company values.  
  • Motivation and Incentives: Implement incentive programs to motivate the team and recognize top performers. Determine commission and bonus targets.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment where team members share best practices and support each other’s success.

Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities and Markets:

  • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build connections and identify prospects.
  • Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies for generating new leads through various channels.
  • Partnerships: Establish strategic partnerships with other businesses to expand market reach.
  • Product Expansion: Identify potential new products or services that align with market needs and company strengths

Build and Maintain Relationships:

  • Regular Communication: Maintain consistent and proactive communication with clients to address their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Customer Feedback: Solicit and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services continuously.
  • Personalized Service: Offer tailored solutions and personalized attention to each client to build trust and loyalty.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any client issues or complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Follow-Up: Conduct regular follow-ups post-purchase to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.

Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Connections: Meet and participate in other department L-10 meetings to align project goals and timelines.
  • Clear Communication: Maintain open and clear communication channels to ensure all departments are informed about project updates and changes.
  • Problem Solving: Work together to identify and address any potential issues or bottlenecks that could affect project delivery.
  • Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback loop with other departments to continuously improve processes and collaboration efforts.

Analyze and Present Sales Data:

  • Data Collection: Gather sales data from various sources, including Business Central (BC), uncovery forms, blue cards, and customer feedback.
  • Trend Analysis: Identify patterns and trends in sales data to understand market dynamics and customer behavior.
  • Strategy Adjustment: Adjust sales strategies based on data insights to improve performance and address any identified issues.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Create and analyze sales reports that include performance metrics, sales trends, and forecasts.
  • Actionable Insights: Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Regular Updates: Present reports to senior management regularly, ensuring they are informed about sales performance and strategic adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Desire to socialize, engage with customers and partners, and create a network of contacts and clients.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the sign fabrication and installation industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness and ability to lead a team of people
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze market data and trends and develop sales strategies.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft’s suite of products
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Desire to socialize, engage with customers and partners, and create a network of contacts and clients.
     

Working Conditions:

Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented environment. Some exposure to dirt, noise, temperature variance, and variable weather conditions that are associated with sign fabrication, site survey and installation. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job with the potential for managing multiple project assignments. Works with a variety of people including customers, vendors, employees, and leadership.

Required Work Schedule:

Work hours are generally during normal operational hours 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Thursday and 7:00am to 12:00pm on Fridays, and an average of at least 40 hours a week. There will be a need to attend off-hour meetings and networking opportunities to develop and maintain customer, vendor and partner relationships. The ability to work overtime, travel overnight and stay out-of-town may be necessary on a limited basis. There may also be variations in work hours due to special projects, changes in customer deadlines, and responding to critical customer service needs.

Physical Requirements:

Will alternate walking, sitting, and standing throughout work shift. Work is primarily performed at a desk. There is regular use of the keyboard, tablets and telephone. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Vision acuity corrected to 20/40.
